About Nasra

“The most valuable thing we can offer each other is the framework in which to think for ourselves” Nancy Kline.

I have 30 years of professional experience supporting people who want to bring about change in a life or work context.  Having graduated from Moray House of Education with a degree in Adult & Community Education, I spent the next 15 years working for a number of Third Sector services, working on social justice issues, then in community mental health services for women and young black and minority ethnic women and latterly in training and staff support and development.

At age 45, I found myself facing redundancy, a time of great uncertainty. I returned to learning and studied organisational leadership and consultancy and then counselling. I struggled to identify a future focus by myself. At this point, I decided to get professional support from a coach.

Coaching offered me a space where I felt heard, supported and encouraged to explore and express my thoughts freely. The coach helped me reflect, uncover my blind spots and understand myself better. The process helped me identify what I wanted from my work and life, my vision and purpose.

The experience of being coached led me to wonder if I could offer the same opportunity to others. At this point, I decided to embark on a programme of professional coach training.

I believe that the quality of the coaching relationship is instrumental to the outcomes you will achieve. I don’t give advice, believing you are able to create the right solutions for you. But, we can’t always achieve this on our own.

You will be working with a coach who:

  • Is focused on your agenda and outcomes
  • Is skilled, experienced and professional
  • Will listen at depth and support you to listen to yourself
  • Encourages you to reflect on your present situation, uses challenging questions to help you gain deeper insights into the thoughts and beliefs that prevent you from achieving your goals

I am fully committed to ethical and professional practice. I abide by the International Coach Federation code of ethics. I have my own coach and regularly receive supervision. I continue to learn through the latest research and train in new skills and ways that will benefit my clients.
